Today is Family Day — a time to remind parents that eating
dinner together makes a difference.
The National Center on Addiction and
Substance Abuse at Colombia University in New York launched Family Day in 2001
after its research consistently found that the more often kids eat dinner with
their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs.
The CASA website offers numerous resources for parents as well as engaging activities to draw families together. Parents are encouraged to take the Family
Day Pledge to reinforce their commitment to the well being of their families. CJK
